Getting Tough with Armstrong Vinyl Flooring
Armstrong vinyl flooring allows you to get the look of hardwood flooring without paying steep hardwood flooring costs.
About Armstrong
Armstrong is a flooring company based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It has 39 plants in 10 different counties. Armstrong produces and designs cabinets, floors and ceilings. Armstrong carries a wide array of flooring products for both residential and commercial uses. Armstrong flooring lines include contemporary, classic and rustic styles. Flooring products range from carpet to wood to vinyl flooring.
Armstrong flooring is known for its ToughGaurd vinyl sheet flooring and its ArmaLock and SwiftLock laminates. The ArmaLock and SwiftLock flooring is put together without using any kind of seal and is very popular with customers who like to put their floor down themselves. Armstrong also has classic linoleum flooring for customers who are looking for a little 1960s flare.
Armstrong Vinyl Flooring
Armstrong has a fantastic selection of vinyl flooring, among that selection is Armstrong’s vinyl sheet line. Armstrong has two types of vinyl sheeting: Felt sheeting and fiberglass sheeting. The fiberglass vinyl is a newer product and is considered a “cushier” vinyl. Right now felt is the most common type of installed vinyl sheeting.
Armstrong vinyl flooring has a lot of distinct advantages. For starters it’s one of the cheaper floor coverings out there and it comes in all different colors and styles. Vinyl is also an incredibly versatile flooring product. Unlike carpet or hardwood, vinyl can be placed in any room of the house. This water resistant material is just as suitable for a master bathroom as it is for a master bedroom.
Interestingly, vinyl floors are more conducive to elderly populations because they’re softer than hard wood surfaces. This makes it easier for older people to stand on the floor for long periods of time. Vinyl’s also a relatively low-maintenance flooring material, which also makes it attractive to old people. Vinyl doesn’t need to be polished like wood. It just need to be swept and grazed with a damp cloth. This makes it much easier for old people to clean these surfaces.
Vinyl is great for many uses, but it does have some negative aspects. For example, installing vinyl-flooring surfaces in your house will not increase the value of your home. Vinyl isn’t considered to be as valuable as wood flooring, for instance. Another disadvantage to vinyl is its potential to rip. Unlike wood floors, vinyl can be ripped by sharp objects. One way to avoid having a ripped Armstrong vinyl floor is by installing more durable vinyl in high traffic areas. You can also put wood in these high traffic areas.
Weighing these pros and cons is a good way to determine if Armstrong vinyl flooring is for you.
